I must say I find that girl utterly delightful. Flat as a board, enormous birthmark in the shape of Mexico over half her face, sweating for hours on end in that sweltering kitchen while Mendl (genius though he is) looms over her like a hulking gorilla - yet without question, without fail, always, and invariably: she’s exceedingly lovely. Why? Because of her purity. - The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014, dir. by Wes Anderson)

"Librarianship is a form of heroism. It’s just not as flashy as swords and dragons."

I mean, I usually ride my dragon to work, doesn’t every librarian?

We prefer griffons in Pickerington, but dragons are good, too.

People think feminism means that there’s a group of women somewhere that want to take trousers with pockets away from men and give them to women, and give men trousers with fake pockets, while in reality feminism is the general idea that everyone should have trousers with pockets, because pockets are awesome.

If you’re a teen looking for a good book to make you laugh, check out this novel. Our hottest read is Swim the Fly by Don Calame. This book has everything: grandpas hitting on widows at funerals, crossdressing, blackmail, bugs flying up your nose, and a fifteen-year-old pooping his pants.
(This is how I feel when describing this book. It’s quite fun. I highly recommend the audio, if only for the scene with the bug going up his nose. No way that’s as good on paper.)

I was going through my tag to prepare for a few booktalks I need to give tomorrow and now I’m tempted to do them all in Stefon’s style.

Do it

silencewhippersnapper please do all future booktalks as Stefon

Wait, can this be a real thing? Can we make a tag for it? I will reblog all the things to our library’s teen tumblr

how game of thrones should end

#khal drogo just #descends from the heavens #on a flaming stallion #punches everyone in the face #and sits his fine dothraki ass down on the iron throne #until daenerys shows up #then he stands #dusts the seat off a bit #and steps aside for his khalessi

LITERAL MAGNIFICENT HORSELORD ANGEL

EDIT: Drogo has become a centaur, the ultimate Horse Lord! Upon his arrival, fuses with the Iron Throne to become the perfect embodiment of Dany’s ultimate goal and lover. They ride off into the sunset.
